About us...
England Over 40's Cricket is a voluntary, non-profit making organisation, self-funded by its recreational players to continue to engage cricketers above the age of 40yrs to play in veterans matches and tournaments at an international level, whilst at the same time promoting physical and mental well-being through sport and team sociability. It does so under endorsement from the England and Wales cricket board (ECB).

Luke Humphrey

Head Coach

Luke Humphrey is the Head Coach of the team and is an ECB Level 4, Specialist Coach (Batting and Spin). He is responsible for leading and guiding the team to success. He oversees all aspects of the team's training and development, including setting goals, designing practice sessions, and strategizing for competitions. Luke is known for his strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and inspire the team members. He also plays a key role in recruiting new talent and building a cohesive team environment.

Andre Nel

Assistant Coach

As a former South African International player with a passion for coaching and a deep understanding of the game, Andre Nel is an invaluable member of the team as an Assistant Coach. He works closely with the head coach to create effective strategies and game plans, ensuring that the team is well-prepared and capable of performing at their best. Andre's ability to motivate and inspire the players is exceptional, helping to build a positive team dynamic and fostering a competitive spirit. His keen eye for talent and commitment to player development make him an essential part of the team's success.

Chris Swallow

Captain

Chris Swallow is the Captain of our team. As the Captain, Chris is responsible for leading and guiding the team towards success. Chris has excellent leadership and communication skills, which are essential in ensuring that our team works together effectively. With a deep understanding of the game, Chris is able to motivate team members to perform at their best. As the Captain, Chris also plays a crucial role in building a positive team culture. Overall, Chris Swallow's role as the Captain is integral to the success and cohesiveness of our team.

Mohammad Akhtar

Vice Captain

As the Vice Captain, Mohammad Akhtar plays a crucial role in the team's success. He supports the Captain in strategizing and planning game tactics, analyzing opponents' strengths and weaknesses, and devising effective game plans. Mohammad Akhtar is also responsible for leading the team in the absence of the Captain and ensuring smooth team operations. His strong leadership skills, tactical knowledge, and ability to inspire and unite the team make him an invaluable asset in achieving the team's goals.

Christopher Mays

Honorary Secretary & Tour Manager

As the Honorary Secretary, Christopher Mays is responsible for the administrative tasks within the team. He ensures that all official documents and records are properly maintained and organized. Christopher also coordinates team meetings, prepares meeting agendas, and takes minutes of the meetings. His attention to detail and strong organizational skills are valuable assets in keeping the team organized and on track.

Steve Naylor

Commercial lead

Steve Naylor is the Commercial Lead of our team. He is responsible for overseeing all commercial activities, including sponsorship, tour operators, and commercial relationships. He collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of commercial initiatives and achieves the team's sponsorship targets. Steve's excellent communication skills and ability to build strong partnerships make him an invaluable asset to our team.
